4. Miniera di Montevecchio

Montevecchio, a historically important mining site, offers a fascinating tour to discover a ‘ghost world’ linked to Sardinia's mining tradition. Located between Arbus and Guspini, this complex, which operated from 1848 to 1991, tells the story of a mine that was one of the most important in Italy. The route includes various itineraries that allow you to explore emblematic places, such as the Management Building, the shaft tower and the workers' lodgings. Each stage offers an insight into the hard work of mining and living conditions, from the elegant rooms of the management to the modest workers' dwellings and industrial facilities such as the workshops and compressor rooms.
