Itinerary
1. Our tour starts at the top of the Wenceslas Square, which faced all major revolutions and military parades throughout the 20th century.
2. Next your guide will take you to Lucerna palace, a unique palace built by Havel family, nowadays know for a statue of upside down horse by famous Czech modern designer David Cerny.
3. A true hidden gem awaits next - beautiful Franciscan garden, a place where locals to relax and get away from hustle and bustle of the city.
4. Right by Franciscan garden stands tall gothic church with an unexpected history. Learn why this church, which was supposed to become the greatest church of Prague, was never finished, and admire its amazing interior with the tallest altar in Prague.
5. The oldest theatre in Prague city centre, the Estates Theatre, once hosted W.A. Mozart. Learn why he performed in Prague and why locals were opposing the theatre's construction.
6. Right next to Estates Theatre stands one of the oldest European universities - Charles University. Learn about life of the most famous Czech king Charles IV and why he is such important figure in Czech history.
7. Did you know, that Czech Republic has its own unique style of architecture you can't find anywhere else? Learn about it at the House of a Black Madonna.
8. Next on our way is a Powder Tower. Once the most representative entrance into the Old Town, later just a storage facility. Our guide will tell you why the tower has such strange history.
9. Right next to the Powder Tower stands true pearl of art nouveau - the Municipal House. Get to know when and why it was built and how is it used now.
10. More churches? Yes please! You won't regret a visit of this one. The biggest and most beautiful baroque church of the Old Town deserves a visit so you can admire its beauty.
11. Next we'll stroll to the former Jewish Quarter of Prague. Your guide will explain you why Prague always had such large Jewish ghetto and walk you though its story from medieval ages till the present day. First stop will be the Spanish synagogue by which stands the statue of a famous Jewish writer from Prague - Franz Kafka
12. Next on our way is Prague's oldest synagogue - the Old New Synagogue. Get to know its story, as well as a story of all neighbouring synagogues - High Synagogue, Klausen Synagogue and Ceremonial Hall.
13. Known as one of the most enchanting cemeteries in central Europe, learn from your guide why is this cemetery so extensive and why is it one of the few old Jewish cemeteries that survived the WWII.
14. Finally, our last stop is at the Old Town Square - a true heart of the Old Town and a place with all styles of architecture you can think of. Let your guide tell you stories of its most famous sights, such as church of St. Nicholas, Týn Church, statue of Jan Hus as well as column of St. Mary.
15. The very last stop is the Old Town hall with famous Astronomical Clock. Learn when it was built, how this complex clock works and watch the show of the full hour. At the end of your tour, our guide will happily give you tips what to do in Prague next or invite you to our afternoon walk to the Prague Castle.
