Overview

This is not just a sightseeing tour — it’s a personalized Sacred Valley experience designed around you. Unlike large group tours that rush from site to site, this private experience gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, ask questions, take great photos, and truly connect with the history and culture of the Andes. What truly makes this tour special: ✔ 100% Private – Only your group ✔ Flexible timing – We adapt to your rhythm ✔ Deeper storytelling – Not just dates, but real Inca legacy ✔ Local insight – Guided by someone who knows the Valley beyond textbooks ✔ Smart timing to avoid peak crowds when possible ✔ Comfort & safety as priorities While many tours simply visit Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines, and Ollantaytambo — we focus on helping you understand why these places mattered to the Inca civilization and how they still influence local life today. You won’t feel like a tourist checking boxes. You’ll feel like a traveler discovering something meaningful.

Itinerary

Itinerary This is a typical itinerary for this product Stop At: Pumahuanca, 08125, Peru On the first day of the trek, we'll start in the small village of Pumahuanca in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll meet our amazing crew, including a herd of llamas, porters, a professional chef in Peruvian cuisine, and an emergency horse. We'll gently make our way up one of the side valleys, covering about 14km in total and climbing about 1150m / 3373ft as we make our way towards the village of Cuyoc. Along the way, we'll visit the small Inca site of Pumahuanca and learn about the native plants, flowers, and birds that inhabit this region. This route is not done by other companies, so we can enjoy the peace and tranquility of our surroundings. Because so few people visit the area, there is a good chance of seeing Viscachas (a kind of rabbit), and we may also spot Andean Fox. Our campsite for the night is at (4100m / 13451ft). It's quite barren at this altitude, and it is not uncommon for it to snow up here during the dry season, so gloves and a hat are recommended. Duration: 10 hours Stop At: Lares, Lares, Cusco Region DAY 2: CUYOC - YANACOCHA - CUNCANI - LARES Today is the most impressive day of the trek and easier than yesterday. It's a 19km walk to Lares Hot Springs, but mostly downhill after a 2-hour pass walk. We'll see snow-capped peaks, mountain lakes, and meet the local Inca descendants dressed in bright red. We'll learn about their culture and even some Quechua Inca phrases to communicate with them. After lunch, we'll visit a local family's house and get to know them. Later, we'll hike to the Lares hot springs passing through small communities where people grow Quinua and Tarwi. We'll camp right by the hot springs and relax in the hot pools. The activity is hiking from Unupunku to Lares hot spring, meeting the local Inca descendant community in Cuncani. Overnight at Lares hot springs (3200m 10464 ft). It takes approximately 7-8 hours of hiking time and is moderate-difficult. This is the highest point we will reach. Duration: 10 hours Stop At: Aguas Calientes, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region DAY 3: LARES HOT SPRINGS TO AGUAS CALIENTES Start your day with a scenic drive from Lares to the remote village of Huilloc. Explore the Pumamarka archaeological site and hike from Pumamarka to Ollantaytambo. Later in the afternoon, you will take a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The train ride takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay before visiting the magnificent Inca citadel, Machu Picchu. ACTIVITY OPTIONS Cultural: Visit the village of Huilloc. Active: Hike from Huilloc to Pumamarka. Approximately 3 hours of moderate hiking. Afternoon Activity: Visit the Inca city of Ollantaytambo. Overnight Stay: Aguas Calientes (2040m/6670ft). Duration: 10 hours Stop At: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU Wake up early and take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to enter the site as it opens. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the site, during which you'll learn about the Incas and visit all the important areas of the citadel. After your tour, you'll have free time to explore the site on your own. If you have permits, you can climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then continue on our transportation to Cusco. ACTIVITY: Guided tour of Machu Picchu. Approximately 3 hours. Duration: 4 hours
