Overview
Discover historical Delft on a private walking tour of 2 hours, and visit Royal Delft afterwards by yourself. Entrance tickets, audio tours and the transfer to and from Royal Delft are included. First dive into the Dutch Golden Age and discover Delft with a private guide on a walking tour. From Johannes Vermeer to William of Orange, and from royal grave tombs to old canals, Delft has it all. You will see the highlights of the Delft and hear the stories hidden behind the city's facades. Then go to Royal Delft. It is the only remaining Delft Blue manufacturer from the 17th century, and they still produce their famous delftware using authentic techniques. In the museum and factory, you will get an overview of its history and see how the production and painting process work. Royal Delft also has a shop and a cafe with inside and outside seating. This is a private tour, so you determine the pace! The walking tour itself normally takes about 2 hours, but our guides are very flexible.
Meeting and Pickup
Please head to the statue of Hugo Grotius, in front of the New Church. This is on the Markt square. The guide will be next to the statue and we will start the tour here.
End Point
This is where you will end. You can always walk back to the city center (20 minutes), or order a small city shuttle at the museum, to take you there in 5 minutes, for a few euros.

Pickup Information
If you book an option that includes a pick-up and drop-off, you will be picked up from the location you select, up to 1 hour before the tour starts. You are dropped off again afterwards. We will contact you beforehand to coordinate this. If you book an option that does not include a pick-up and a drop-off, you will meet your guide at the meeting point.

Itinerary
1. The second-tallest church of The Netherlands! Do you know who's buried underneath? I'll tell you all about it.
2. The old town hall of Delft is one of the most important historical buildings of the city. We will walk by it as we leave the Grote Markt square on our way to the Old Church. What is so interesting about the town hall? I'll tell you!
3. We are now in the old beer brewing quarter of Delft. Where did the brewers go? We will also see the Old Church, perhaps the most recognizable building of the city. How old is it exactly and why is it so skewed? Who knows.
4. This place has played a deciding role in Dutch history. The Father of the Fatherland has been assassinated here! Let's find out more about it.
5. On our way down the Oude Delft canal, we will pass by a heavily decorated facade, that of the Gemeenlandshuis. What is this building and why was it so important?
6. You will make your way to the south of the city. We will pass by a large former weapons Armory of the V.O.C. Let's find out more about Delft's role in the golden days of the Dutch Republic. Also around here, we can take a look at the exact spot where Vermeer was standing when he made his painting 'View of Delft'.
7. We will make our way to the Beestenmarkt. This is a picturesque square, often crowded with people. They used to organise animal markets here. On our way, we will pass by some former Delft Blue pottery manufacturers, an old synagogue, and the oldest hospital of the Netherlands.
8. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the Royal Delft Museum/Factory.
