Itinerary
1. In the morning, your tour guide and private driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. Your first destination will be Tiananmen Square, the largest city-center square in the world. While traveling along the renowned Chang'an Street, you'll also pass notable landmarks such as the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum (formerly known as the Museum of Chinese History and Revolution).
2. Situated at the center of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall honors the founding leader of the People’s Republic of China
3. The Great Hall of the People, located on the western side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, is a grand architectural landmark and the political center of China. Serving as the venue for major government events, including the National People's Congress and state ceremonies, it symbolizes China's political and cultural significance.
4. From Tiananmen Gate, you can walk toward the Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in the world. With a history spanning over 600 years, this magnificent complex features 9,999.5 rooms and served as the residence and ruling center for 24 Chinese emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Spending a few hours exploring the highlights of the Forbidden City is highly recommended to fully appreciate its historical and architectural grandeur. ** In addition, tickets for the Forbidden City must be reserved 7 days in advance. If not reserved beforehand, foreign visitors can purchase tickets on site, but availability depends on the daily visitor quota. Since the tour guides are Chinese citizens, they cannot enter without a prior reservation, but they can assist you in renting an audio guide.**
5. The Meridian Gate, the main entrance to the Forbidden City, is the largest and most imposing gate of the complex. It served as the site for imperial proclamations and ceremonies, symbolizing the authority and grandeur of the emperor.
6. The Hall of Great Harmony, located at the heart of the Forbidden City, is the largest and most important hall in the complex. It served as the venue for grand ceremonies, including imperial enthronements and major state events, symbolizing the supreme authority of the emperor.
7. Located at the northern end of the Forbidden City, the Imperial Garden is a serene retreat designed for the emperor and his family. Featuring ancient trees, elegant pavilions, and beautifully arranged rockeries, it showcases traditional Chinese landscaping and offers a peaceful contrast to the grandeur of the palace halls.
8. At midday, your tour guide will escort you to a local restaurant to savor an authentic meal featuring regional flavors. In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This quieter section offers a more relaxed hiking experience, allowing you to explore the majestic Wall for approximately two hours. The drive from the city to Mutianyu takes about 1.5 hours. To maximize your time and energy, you’ll take a cable car up to a midway point before beginning your hike, and descend the same way afterward. At the end of the tour, your guide and driver will return you to your hotel, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey.
9. Important Notice for August 20-September 6 Due to rehearsal activities, Tian’anmen Square will be closed on August 20 till September 6.
