Private Tokyo Tea & Kimono: Use a National Treasure's Kettle Discount Tickets

Overview

Near Shinjuku, this private Tokyo tea ceremony pairs kimono dressing with a seated Ryurei-style tasting at Maple Café-Kaede-. Compare two bowls of matcha made with water boiled in a kettle crafted by a Japanese Living National Treasure—one prepared by the Master and one whisked by you—to see how technique affects flavor. Seasonal wagashi and a kimono stroll through the 1,000-year-old Omiya Hachiman Shrine forest complete the experience.
