Overview

This unique tour features two very different sides of Shanghai, both ancient and ultra modern. You'll first enjoy a short trip just 1-hour outside of Shanghai to the charm of Zhujiajiao ancient water town. You'll explore ancient bridges like Fangsheng Bridge, stroll Qing dynasty streets and enjoy Qing dynasty architecture while diving into local shops. You'll also visit the unique Qing Dynasty Post Office, rural authentic Yuanjin Buddhist Temple and sample local snacks such as sticky rice dumplings (zong zi) and steamed pork in bamboo leaves (zha rou) and traditional Chinese candies. This tour also includes a relaxing site-filled gondola ride. You'll then return to Shanghai to visit three modern sites, including an amazing view from the observation deck of Shanghai Tower, the worlds largest Starbucks, a symbol of modern China with its sprawling layout and coffee making experience. Lastly, you'll ride the Maglev a 400kph train and learn more about this innovation at the Maglev museum.

Please note: Public transportation is recommended for groups of up to 4 guests. For larger groups, we suggest selecting private transportation, as standard taxis have limited passenger capacity. Please note: Due to the limited availability of guides who speak languages other than English and Mandarin, the public transportation option is currently available only for tours conducted in English or Mandarin. Please note: 1) We pickup all travelers at any central point of Shanghai. 2) Drop off and pickup outside of central Shanghai over 15KM, such as Pudong International Airport, Hongqiao International Airport, Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, Shanghai Disney Area, Shanghai International Exhibition, Qingpu District, Jiading District, Chuansha District, or Songjiang District, Fengxian District, will incur an extra USD40 for your whole group and includes both pickup and dropoff. You can pay in cash (USD or RMB) directly to your guide when meeting.

1. Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
Zhujiajiao is a water town just an hour outside of Shanghai. It was established about 1,700 years ago. It features 36 stone bridges and numerous rivers line Zhujiajiao, and many ancient buildings still line the riverbanks today. The many shops nestled into the historic buildings and stone streets lined are bustling with with food vendors. Gondola rides along the canals are popular activities are included. Qing Dynasty Post Office, Yuanjin Buddhist Temple visit will make your water town tour complete.

2. Shanghai Tower
The Shanghai Tower is a 632-metre, 128-story megatall skyscraper in Lujiazui (second-tallest behind Dubai's Burj Khalifa.) It has the world's highest observation deck and the world's fastest elevators at a top speed of 74 km/hr. It is the world's A truly amazing view and experience.

3. Shanghai Maglev Museum
This technological marvel is the fastest commercial high-speed electric train in the world and designed to connect Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the outskirts of central Pudong It cost $1.2 billion to build. It hums along at over 300km/hr, the highest speed can be reach at 421KM/hour. It takes only 7 minutes from Pudong International Airport to Longyang Rd station. You'll enjoy the maglev itself as well as learn more about this marvel in the Maglev Museum.
