1. Car ride towards Porteau Cove
2. Kick off your adventure with a visit to this coastal treasure nestled between the mountains and the sea. Porteau Cove offers a front-row seat to the deep-blue waters of Howe Sound, BC’s southernmost fjord. Breathe in the fresh ocean air, walk along the pier, and take in panoramic views of snow-capped peaks reflecting on the water. It's a peaceful and photogenic spot that's perfect for a quiet moment before the journey continues — keep an eye out for sea lions or even orcas in the distance!
3. Next, feel the rush of nature as you stand at the base of Shannon Falls, the third-highest waterfall in British Columbia. Cascading from a staggering 335 meters (1,099 feet), these falls are both powerful and elegant, surrounded by mossy trees and granite cliffs. A short, accessible trail leads you through a lush West Coast rainforest to the perfect viewing platform. The thunder of the water and the mist in the air create a revitalizing experience — a true natural wonder that brings you up close to BC’s raw beauty.
4. Prepare for a jaw-dropping ride up the mountainside aboard the Sea to Sky Gondola, where you’ll rise 885 meters (2,900 feet) above sea level in just 10 minutes. Each gondola cabin features floor-to-ceiling windows for maximum views of the surrounding fjords, forests, and mountains. At the top, take your time to explore the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, panoramic viewing platforms, and alpine trails. The views of Howe Sound, Mount Garibaldi, and the Tantalus Range are nothing short of spectacular — this is a bucket-list-worthy experience that will take your breath away.
5. Tucked away in a peaceful forest just south of Whistler lies Brandywine Falls, a 70-meter (230-foot) cascade plunging into a deep canyon. The falls are surrounded by basalt cliffs and framed by wildflowers and greenery in summer.
