Itinerary

1. Rock of Cashel
Soak in the atmosphere of one of Ireland's most breathtaking tourist destinations, iconic in its historical significance. This unique and atmospheric place is bound to create enduring memories. The Rock of Cashel boasts the most remarkable collection of medieval structures in Ireland. Among the historical treasures it houses, you'll find a round tower, an imposing high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a majestic Gothic cathedral, an ancient abbey, the distinguished Hall of the Vicars Choral, and a Tower House from the fifteenth century. Originally serving as the royal seat of the Munster kings, legend has it that even St. Patrick himself journeyed here to convert King Aenghus to Christianity. In 978, Brian Boru was crowned as the High King at Cashel, establishing it as his capital. There will be an opportunity to visit the impressive Cormac’s Chapel - one of the best examples of 12th century Romanesque architecture in Ireland with the only surviving Romanesque frescoes in Ireland.

2. Cahir Castle
Visit one of the largest and best preserved castles in Ireland, which has retained its impressive keep, tower and much of its original defensive structure from the 14th century. Walk along the river Suir and end enjoy the Movie Garden along the Castle’s walls , with the Castle as a location for many famous films including The Last Duel, The Tudors, Excalibur and others.
