The abbey and its gardens are open to the public and attract many visitors each year. The Victorian Walled Garden is particularly notable, having been restored to its original beauty. Kylemore Abbey is not only a beautiful historical building but also a place of religious significance, with the Benedictine nuns continuing to live and work there today.
