Overview
Chocolate is a technology 5,300 years in the making. It is currently going through metamorphosis unlike anything it has undergone before. This tour celebrates chocolate in all its forms; join us to enjoy something unexpected alongside your all-time favorites. We visit bakeries, chocolatiers and specialty shops, tasting flavor and styles from across the globe. But why Seattle? Cacao does not grow in Washington, nor do we have your own distinct style like that in Belgium or Ecuador. What Seattle offers is a culture that honors tradition while striving for innovation. We value the integrity of ingredients and supply chains, but we see no ‘rules’ in how something should be done. We break the mold of what people think chocolate is and of what it can be. You are living in the Golden Age of Chocolate.

Itinerary
1. Guests start the tour with 2 baked goods featuring rich dark and creamy white chocolate. The guide will introduce the tour, run through the day's itinerary, and give guests a chance to share what they love most about chocolate. Coffee and restrooms are available through the bakery.
2. Rewind the clock and experience chocolate's origins. Here guests will enjoy a unique Mexican chocolate beverage while learning about the role cacao played in Pre-Columbian America.
3. As the tour passes through iconic Pike Place Market, guests will learn about the artisanal history of the market, which hosted the city's original craft brewery and most popular cheese maker.
4. Guests learn about the region's geography and how it has played a role in developing Seattle as a capital of craft.
5. Guests try another two tastings at this Danish Bakery: hot cocoa with a twist and chocolate macarons. The focus is on European styles of chocolate and how they differ from Mesoamerican traditions.
6. Guests taste different varietals and styles of chocolate all grown in rural Venezuela and imported directly to Pike Place market. The caramel sauce is another 'must-taste' option.
7. The tour returns to Europe, and guests sample a variety imported products from Italy and beyond. If you love Nutella but hate the additives, this is for you.
8. Guests get to choose the next tasting out of a large collection of the best chocolate bars from around the world. The guide opens the bar and shares about the artisans who produced it.
9. Here guests sample chocolate directly from one of the masters of Seattle Chocolatiering. After sampling, guests get to take a truffle home.
