Redemption Instructions

Our Reception Team is ready in your arrival to check the proper documents(1949 IDP or JAF Translation etc...) to drive in Japan + Passport. Please check which requirement is for you: (and bring your PASSPORT with you. always.) 1. International Driving Permit (IDP): * Must be based on the 1949 Geneva Convention. * Valid for one year from the date of issue. * Cannot be used if you are a resident of Japan (only for tourists). 2. Licenses from Certain Countries/Regions (No IDP Needed): * Countries like Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Monaco, and Taiwan. * Must carry an official Japanese translation of your driver’s license (provided by JAF or the embassy). 3. U.S. Military Based in Japan: * Requires a SOFA License and Military I.D. 4. Japanese Driver’s License: * For residents who convert their foreign license or take the driving test in Japan. Important Notes: * Visitors from countries not part of the 1949 IDP agreement (e.g., China, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and many more...) are not eligible to drive unless they acquire a Japanese driver's license. * Always carry the required documents while driving + PASSPORT. * Kira-Kira Tokyo Karts ensures all guests are fully informed of eligibility before booking.
