Traverse through the Awe-inspiring Snowdonia National Park and its spectacular rugged landscaped driving routes & viewpoints, witnessing great lakes, valleys, rivers and views of Mount Snowdonia Summit. Visit Breath-taking Padarn Park & National Slate Museum to learn of our monumental history with mining, set within some of the most spectacular scenery in Snowdonia. Quest to spectacular setting of Dolbadarn Castle ruins through the forest. Cross the dramatic location of historic Menai bridge. And finally Snowdonia has been declared the most beautiful national park in Europe, join me and discover it for yourself!

Itinerary

1. Holyhead
We will pick you up at either one of two locations where the ferries drop you. 1. Holyhead Seaport, 2. Holyhead Marina. Please remember to state which pick up you require

2. Menai Bridge
Built in 1820, the worlds first large scale suspension bridge. Drive over this world renowned iconic bridge and a stroll under its arches and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Duration: 30 mins
3. Conwy
Amble the ancient and medieval castle town of Conwy to view the castle’s domineering and towering walls, whose magnificent towers stand tall over the beautiful estuary. Also visit the famous and worlds first ever built suspension bridge in 1819.(main castle entry additional fee)

4. Bethesda
View the guarding Welsh Dragon of Snowdonia, hidden in woodland, guarding for invaders to our lands (if parking space unavailable we have to bypass this stop).

5. Penrhyn Quarry
Next, you'll head on to Penrhyn Quarry for a chance to see how our mining history has moved with the times and merged with the adrenaline adventure industry of today's generations. Once the world's largest slate quarry to now the world's fastest zip line!

6. Nant Ffrancon Pass
We enter the Snowdonia national park, and the glacial valley of Nant FFrancon. The mountains and lakes here start to envelope us, and the scenery takes a dramatic change.

7. Llyn Ogwen
Another majestic stop with breathtaking scenery, however next to the lake of Ogwen we learn about a historic find at the lake which is linked to the legend of King Arthur and Excalibur.
Duration: 15 mins
8. Yr Wyddfa
Visit the spectacular Snowdonia Viewpoint. Here youll be stading in awe at the 360 panoramic view looking at the surrounding mountain summits and the lakes in the valleys.

9. Pen-y-Pass
Pen y pass is one of Wales most beautiful drives. A V-shaped valley, dramatic scenery on the drive on route to Llanberis.
10. Castell Dolbadarn
A few minutes walk through woodland are worth the views alone. Dolbadarn Castle, built by the Welsh Prince Llywelyn the Great during the early 13th century is at the base of the Llanberis Pass and overlooks Padarn Lake. The castle was important to both militarily and as a symbol of Llywelyn's power and authority.

11. Caernarfon Town Walls
Take a walk round this world heritage site or visit the castle innards. (additional fee for main entrance)After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed - a brute of a fortress. History comes alive at Caernarfon in so many ways – along the lofty wall walks, beneath the twin-towered gatehouse, the walk town’s narrow and colorful streets and stylishly redeveloped waterfront of the Menai. (additional fee for main castle entrance)

12. North Wales
Enjoy the scenic north wales drive along the Menai and island of Anglesey on our return leg to port.
