Itinerary
1. Meeting point for the tour is at the medieval Eigelstein city gate, close to the central train station. We set you up with a fitting bike, you meet your guide and soon start your tour through Cologne!
2. You leave the Eigelstein and Agnes Neighborhoods behind and make your way to the northern extension of the Green Belt, the biggest park of Cologne. Your guide tells you interesting facts and stories about how the city developed over the centuries and shares lots of local knowledge with you.
3. Taking the Zoo Bridge to cross over the Rhine you now get rewarded with an amazing view as you cycle through the Rhine park and along the Rhine Boulevard. Up to 10.000 people can stand on this gigantic flight of steps on the eastern side of the Rhine River. Enjoy an amazing view while looking across to the old city district!
4. The amazing Hohenzollern Bridge awaits us! Have a great view on the Cologne Cathedral from the bridgehead and see the many padlocks that stand as a symbol for eternal love of many thousands of couples. This bridge is not only one of the most famous ones in Germany, but also one of the busiest bridges for the German train traffic.
5. We will pass by the philharmonic hall with its modern architecture style. From here it is just a short ride to the Cathedral and the Old Town
6. See the Cologne Cathedral and listen to its history and get to know fascinating facts about it. This Gothic gem has been around for centuries and has lots of stories to tell!
7. The Old Town of Cologne is such a special place with its rustic breweries and little narrow allies and paths, hidden squares and interesting sculptures. You follow your guide through this medieval maze and listen to interesting stories and fun anecdotes. And maybe, you even have time to try some local cuisine or a cold Kölsch brew!
8. See waterfront development at its best - We will cycle through the new build former Industrial port of Cologne. Get your cameras ready to capture some of the most amazing architecture, such as the Crane Houses.
