2. The Master - of - Nets Garden is a small - scale garden with a compact layout and rich artistic conception. Despite its small size, it can fully demonstrate the artistic charm of Suzhou gardens. The garden is divided into the residential area and the garden area. The residential area retains a large number of ancient buildings with elegant decoration. In the garden area, the lake is the center, and there are pavilions, corridors and other buildings around it. The small bridge over the water and the rockery and flowers set off each other, creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere.
3. The Lion Grove Garden is famous for its strange - shaped rockeries. These rockeries are like lions in different postures, hence the name. There are many paths and caves in the rockeries, which are like a maze, full of fun. In addition, the garden also has beautiful water features and ancient buildings. The Heron Pavilion and the Huixiang Hall are important buildings in the garden, showing the unique style of Suzhou gardens.
4. The Lingering Garden is one of the four famous gardens in China. It is located at 338 Liuyuan Road, outside Changmen Gate in the northeast of Suzhou City, with an area of 23,300 square meters. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty. The garden is divided into four parts: the central, eastern, western and northern parts, each with a different style. The eastern part mainly features architectural courtyards, and the famous Five - Peak Celestial Hall is located here, with exquisite furnishings inside. The central part is dominated by the landscape of mountains and waters, which is the essence of the whole garden. The western part is characterized by rockeries, and the northern part is mainly about rural scenery.
5. The Humble Administrator's Garden is a representative work of Jiangnan classical gardens and is known as the "Mother of Chinese Gardens". It is also the largest garden in Suzhou. Centered around water, pavilions, terraces, towers and halls in the garden are all built by the water. The layout is exquisite, and the scenery changes as you walk. Buildings like the Distant Fragrance Hall and the Xiangzhou Boat - shaped Pavilion are beautifully designed, reflecting the artistic conception of "enjoying the cool breeze and the moonlight, observing the flowing water and the still mountains".
6. Located in the northwest of Suzhou's ancient city, the Tiger Hill Scenic Area, or Huqiu, has a history of over 2,500 years. Hailed as the "Number One Scenic Spot in Wuzhong", it has charmed countless visitors, including Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo, who deemed a trip to Suzhou incomplete without visiting Tiger Hill. Though just over 30 meters tall, Tiger Hill impresses with its stunning cliffs, ravines, and panoramic views. Key attractions include the Cloud Rock Temple Pagoda, the world's second - leaning pagoda with a 1,000 - year history; the mysterious Sword Pond, rumored to house King Helü of Wu's tomb; and the Thousand People's Rock, steeped in the legend of "Master Sheng's lecture". To the east, Wanjing Villa displays exquisite Suzhou - style bonsai, while the back - mountain area enchants with lush greenery and flocks of birds. Annual events like the Spring Art Flower Fair and Autumn Temple Fair add cultural flair.
