1. Discover a masterpiece of the Milanese Renaissance at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, and spend 15 minutes admiring Da Vinci’s masterful “Last Supper.” Also known as the “Cenacolo Vinciano,” the mural is hidden away on a wall of the refectory at the basilica. Your guide will give a quick introduction to Renaissance art in Italy, describing how it became one of the most fertile periods of painting worldwide. Learn why the Duke of Milan, Ludovico il Moro, commissioned Leonardo and how he presided over the most important period in the Milanese Renaissance. Then, go straight to the front of the lines to see Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” and spend at least 15 minutes appreciating one of the most iconic images of Christ in the world.
