Itinerary

1. Asakusa
locations covered during the tour depend on the option selected. Asakusa is a neighbourhood in Tokyo where you can find a wonderful mix of retro, traditional, religious, quirky, modern and cultural elements around every corner.
2. Sensō-ji Denboin Garden
historic street with stores and housing facades of the Edo period
3. Tanuki Street
quirky street where the main theme is 'raccoons'. There are various raccoon figurines every few meters along this street
4. Asakusa Hanayashiki
One of the oldest amusement parks in Japan, still in operation
5. Asahi Beer Headquarters
Asahi Beer Headquarters, with the iconic golden 'flame' on top of the building
6. Ushijima Shrine
A Shinto Shrine. Find out why this Shrine has a gate with three entrances instead of the standard one entrance.

7. Tokyo Skytree
excellent view on the Tokyo Skytree from across the Sumida River. This is a good photo spot.
8. Senso-ji Nitemmon
Colourful and bright gate leading to the Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine.
9. Asakusa Shrine
A shinto shrine located on the temple grounds of the impressive Sensoji Temple. Learn about the differences between Shinto and Buddhism and how they peacefully coexist.
10. Honryuin Matsuchiyama Shoden
A buddhist temples, one of the constituent temples of the Sensoji Temple. Find out why there are so many radishes in the temple and painted on the lanterns

A Shinto Shrine which features a lot of cat figurines, especially the manekineko, the beckoning cat.

12. Asakusa Engei Hall
Venue that was and is still the heart of Asakusa's entertainment district. Come here to experience Japanese comedy and shows!
13. Rokku Broadway
The Rokku Street, now part of the retro district, used to be THE most popular entertainment district in Tokyo before the war. Cinema's and theatres were located here!
14. Sumida Park
The Sumida Park is a long park lining the Sumida River. Here you can view the cherry blossoms in spring, take break and relax from sightseeing and enjoy an excellent view on the Tokyo Skytree just across the river.

While rickshaws are able to fit two adults, each rickshaw is 29.1 inches (74 centimeters) wide, and it is sometimes more comfortable to book individual rickshaws for each passenger. For passengers of size, we recommend booking a rickshaw for each participant to ensure a comfortable ride. Passengers who do not both fit in one rickshaw but wish to participate in a tour at the same time will be required to purchase an additional rickshaw, which may not be available on the date of the tour with an English-speaking guide if not booked in advance. Those customers who do not purchase an additional rickshaw at the time of booking cannot be guaranteed availability.
