Itinerary

1. Shibamata Haikara Yokocho

A beautiful store, filled with items from the past, from candy to snacks, from postcards to old arcade games, which gives the impression of being in another era.

Duration: 15 mins

2. Taishakuten Sandō

Taishakuten Sando (or more simply Shibamata Sando) is a historic shopping street that connects the station to the Taishakuten Temple. The street is dotted on both sides with many old stores, keeping the atmosphere of the neighborhood in line with the one of the ancient past.

3. Shibamata Taishakuten

The iconic temple of the district. It can also be visited internally in its entirety. Outside is characterized by the multiple finely crafted reliefs, while inside features a wonderful Zen garden. Entrance fee (not included): about 400JPY

4. Yamamoto-tei

A wonderful teahouse nestled in the residential area of Shibamata. Take some time to relax while sipping a cup of freshly brewed matcha tea or coffee while enjoying the view of the beautiful garden located at the back of the building. Entrance fee (not included): about 100JPY
