Itinerary
1. Departure from Marques de Pombal Square at 9:00am directly to Óbidos
2. The medieval village of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal. Close enough to the capital and situated high above the Atlantic coast, Óbidos had a strategic importance in the territory. Already occupied before the Romans reached the Iberian Peninsula, the village became more prosperous from the moment it was chosen by the royal family.
3. A beautiful and traditional fishing village where you have the opportunity to see the typical portuguese nazarenas 7 saias. You will have the chance to see the Praia do Norte where the Nazaré biggest wave happened. Discover one of Portugal’s most iconic coastal towns, world-famous for Praia do Norte and its colossal waves that attract surfers from across the globe. Visit the Sítio da Nazaré and take in the breathtaking views from this cliffside lookout, next to the Church of Our Lady of Nazaré. Be sure to see the Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo, perched dramatically on the cliff beside the famous Nazaré Lighthouse. This spot is internationally known for the Nazaré Canyon, a unique underwater geological phenomenon responsible for producing the largest surfed waves on the planet—a natural spectacle that draws thrill-seekers and spectators from around the world. Enjoy some free time for lunch at a traditional local restaurant (not included)
4. The Shrine of Fatima, formally named by the Catholic Church as the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, is a Marian shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima.
5. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima is a Roman Catholic church located in Fátima, Portugal. It is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world, built near the site where three shepherd children reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. The basilica was constructed between 1928 and 1953 in a neoclassical style, featuring a tall central bell tower and beautiful stained glass windows. It is part of the Sanctuary of Fátima, which attracts millions of visitors every year seeking peace, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
