It houses exhibitions that cover all four modes of transport under one roof: road traffic, rail transport, aviation and navigation. The Dresden Transport Museum (founded in 1952) has its origins in the Royal Saxon State Railway museum founded in 1877 as one of the oldest technical collections in Germany. The Dresden Transport Museum is housed in the former royal stable building used by Saxon kings for their coaches and horses over 400 years ago. The ticket is valid for all open exhibitions (e.g. road, rail and air traffic, navigation, temporary exhibition, model railway, traffic garden).
