Overview

Experience the charm of traditional Thai life with a trip to Maeklong Railway Market. Stroll through the market that runs parallel to the railway tracks and watch trains arrive at the station. Then, take a boat trip to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Enjoy a longtail boat ride to observe traditional Thai life, sample local food and fresh fruit, and buy handmade souvenirs. Next, learn about coconut sugar production from coconut blossom nectar at a local farm. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant of your choice. End the trip at Wat Bang Kang, an ancient temple covered in banyan tree roots, which houses centuries-old Buddha statues. Originally a military base used for training Muay Thai, Thailand's traditional martial art, the temple now features numerous statues depicting Muay Thai training stances for visitors to admire. Return to the hotel for your final day's activities.

Itinerary

1. Mae Klong Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market)
้็HOOP ROM Railway Market – The Risky Market You Must See to Believe! Nestled right along the active railway near Maeklong Station, this 100-meter-long market is Thailand’s most thrilling shopping experience. Known as the Umbrella Pulldown Market or Risky Market, vendors boldly display their goods directly on the tracks, shaded by umbrellas and tarps. But here’s the catch: several times a day, when the train approaches, a horn sounds—and in a heartbeat, umbrellas come down, stalls are pulled back, and the train rolls past just inches away. As soon as it’s gone, the market springs back to life as if nothing happened. This heart-racing moment, repeated daily, has become a must-see spectacle for travelers. A perfect blend of chaos and charm, Maeklong Railway Market is truly one of Thailand’s most unforgettable sights!
Duration: 180 mins
2. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – A Timeless Thai Experience on Water Step back in time at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, one of Thailand’s most iconic and internationally renowned floating markets. Located in Ratchaburi Province and connecting to Samut Songkhram — home of the famous Train Market — this waterway has long served as a vital trade route between communities. Here, you’ll find a vibrant mix of colorful boats paddled by local vendors selling everything from tropical fruits straight from their orchards to Thai street food, handmade crafts, and unique souvenirs. It's not just a market — it's a living museum that reflects the authentic lifestyle of generations past. Even in 2024, the charm remains untouched. Whether you're a photographer, foodie, or culture seeker, this is a must-visit spot where tradition floats right past you. Come early, beat the crowds, and let this one-of-a-kind market captivate your senses.
Duration: 240 mins
3. Coconut Sugar Farm
The Coconut Sugar Furnace (Taotan) in Amphawa, Samut Songkhram, is a cultural highlight that showcases the traditional craft of producing coconut sugar. Amphawa is one of Thailand’s largest areas for coconut plantations, especially famous for its fragrant “Nam Hom” coconuts. Visiting a Taotan offers travelers a glimpse into the authentic way of life that has been passed down through generations.
Duration: 60 mins
4. Wat Bang Kung
Wat Bang Kung is one of the most remarkable historical temples in Samut Songkhram, located on the banks of the Mae Klong River. It is famous for its unique chapel covered entirely by the roots of giant banyan and bodhi trees, creating a mystical and “Unseen Thailand” atmosphere. The temple is not only a spiritual site but also a place deeply tied to Thailand’s military history.
