The Renoir Estate, known as Les Collettes, is a moving and inspiring place filled with history and artistic spirit. In 1907, Auguste Renoir fell in love with this olive grove and bought it to protect its ancient trees and the hillside light that inspired him. Despite severe arthritis, he settled here with his family, turning the house into a lively artistic retreat visited by Matisse, Monet, Rodin and Bonnard. Now a museum, the villa showcases Renoir’s studios, his tools, sculptures created with Richard Guino, and around fifty works, including fifteen by the artist. The surrounding park, still home to centuries‑old olive trees, preserves the soft, luminous atmosphere that shaped Renoir’s final years. Intimate and timeless, it is an essential stop to understand the man behind the painter and feel the artistic soul of the Côte d’Azur. Tickets are not free, but the ticket is included with this tour.
