Itinerary

1. Guinness Lake
Your adventure begins at Lough Tay, one of Ireland’s most photographed spots, also known as the Guinness Lake because of its dark peaty waters and creamy white sand beach resembling a pint of Guinness. Learn about the Guinness family estate, the celebrities who have stayed here, and the scenes from iconic productions filmed in this valley — from Vikings to Irish Wish. Enjoy a short walk and panoramic views of the lake surrounded by heather-covered mountains and stone walls. Perfect for photography and quiet reflection.
Duration: 60 mins
2. Wicklow Mountains National Park
Continue your scenic drive through the Wicklow Mountains National Park, tracing routes featured in the movie Braveheart.
You’ll stop at the scenic “PS I Love You” bridge, where one of the film’s most romantic scenes was shot. Take a leisurely stroll through the mountain landscape — wild, dramatic, and unmistakably Irish — just like the movie’s characters did.
Duration: 60 mins
3. Roundwood
Arrive in Roundwood, Ireland’s highest village, known for its laid-back charm and honest Irish flavours.
Here you’ll enjoy a breakfast stop of Irish scones or pastry or sourdough with cheese paired with tea or coffee of your choice.
Everything is made from locally sourced ingredients, bursting with freshness and flavour — served in an authentic, welcoming atmosphere. A lot of locals have breakfast there too. This is a perfect food stop where you can chat with locals, soak up the rural ambience, and experience Irish hospitality at its best.
Duration: 60 mins
4. Glendalough Monastic Settlement
On our private Wicklow tour from Dublin, we’ll visit the unforgettable Glendalough Monastic Settlement — one of Ireland’s most scenic and historic monastic sites. Nestled in the beautiful Vale of Glendalough in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, this early medieval valley is known for its striking Round Tower, ancient churches, and atmospheric stone ruins. Your driver-guide will share the stories behind the monastery as you explore at a comfortable pace, with plenty of time for photos and a peaceful walk in the surrounding landscape. If time and conditions allow, we can also include a short scenic stroll toward the Upper and Lower Lakes of Glendalough, a true highlight of the “Garden of Ireland.”
Duration: 120 mins
5. Laragh
Settle in for a relaxed lunch at one of Wicklow’s welcoming country pubs — cosy, character-filled and full of that classic Irish atmosphere. Choose from a range of traditional Irish favourites (with options for different preferences and dietary requirements), like Irish stew, seafood chowder, fish and chips, roast of the day or fresh seasonal plates. While you eat, your guide will share the local history and stories behind the dishes you’re trying — why they’re such a big part of Irish food culture and how local ingredients influence what’s on the menu. It’s the ideal mid-tour pause: great food, a friendly setting and a genuine taste of Wicklow hospitality.
Duration: 60 mins
6. Newtown Mount Kennedy
Choose one of Wicklow’s most memorable local tasting experiences — tailored to your interests and seasonal availability: Option 1: Craft beer tasting at a Wicklow brewery Enjoy a guided tasting of locally brewed beers, sampling a few different styles while learning the story behind Wicklow’s craft beer scene. Option 2: Berry wine, cheese & tasting experience Try a unique Wicklow wine made from fresh Irish berries, paired with Irish cheeses. Your guide will explain how it’s made and what makes this local speciality so distinctive. Either way, it’s a relaxed, flavour-forward stop that adds a real “Taste of Wicklow” moment to your day.
Duration: 60 mins
7. Greystones
Finish the day in the seaside town of Greystones — a charming coastal village known for its friendly atmosphere and gorgeous sea views. We’ll take a relaxed stroll along the famous sea cliffs, breathing in the salty Atlantic air and enjoying the coastline at an easy pace (with time for photos and a quick browse of the local spots). To round out your “Taste of Wicklow” experience, you’ll enjoy one final treat: a dessert of your choice, a scoop of Irish ice cream, or the classic Irish coffee — a cosy, delicious finale by the sea.
