Itinerary

1. Quiet Man Bridge
The Quiet Man Bridge Our journey begins at the famous stone bridge where Sean Thornton pauses to admire the beauty of Connemara on his return to Ireland. This peaceful setting remains almost unchanged since filming in 1951 and is one of the movie's most recognisable locations.
Duration: 15 mins
2. Quiet man cottage
White O'Morn Cottage Ruins Next, we'll visit the ruins of the original White O'Morn Cottage, Sean Thornton's home in the film. Although only the stone remains survive today, it's a fascinating stop that brings one of cinema's most beloved homes to life.
3. Lettergesh Beach
Lettergesh Beach Discover the stunning beach where several memorable scenes were filmed. Surrounded by the mountains of Connemara and the Atlantic Ocean, Lettergesh is one of Ireland's most beautiful beaches and a highlight of the tour.
Duration: 15 mins
4. Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden
Kylemore Abbey Enjoy a visit to the magnificent Kylemore Abbey, one of Ireland's most photographed landmarks. Nestled beside a tranquil lake and backed by mountains, it offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Connemara beyond the film locations.
Duration: 30 mins
5. Connemara
Experience the Beauty of Connemara The journey between each location is just as memorable as the destinations themselves. Travel through the heart of Connemara, one of Ireland's most spectacular and unspoilt regions, where dramatic mountain ranges, sparkling lakes, winding country roads and sweeping Atlantic coastline combine to create breathtaking scenery at every turn. Along the way you'll pass traditional stone walls, roaming sheep, colourful villages and vast stretches of wild bogland that have changed little over the generations. It's easy to see why director John Ford chose Connemara as the backdrop for The Quiet Man. The region's rugged beauty, peaceful landscapes and timeless charm perfectly capture the spirit of rural Ireland, making the drive itself an unforgettable part of the experience. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs and admire some of the finest scenery Ireland has to offer.
Duration: 180 mins
6. The Quiet Man Museum
The Quiet Man Museum, housed in an authentic cottage, where you can step inside a faithful recreation of the White O'Morn Cottage and learn fascinating behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the film.
Duration: 15 mins
7. Ballyglunin Railway Station
Ballyglunin Railway Station Our final stop is the beautifully restored Ballyglunin Railway Station, known as "Castletown Station" in the opening scenes of the film. This historic station remains one of the best-preserved The Quiet Man filming locations and is the perfect place to end our cinematic journey.
Duration: 15 mins
8. Cong
Cong Village Explore the charming village that became the fictional village of Innisfree. Wander its picturesque streets, visit the famous filming locations, browse local shops, and enjoy time for lunch in one of the village's welcoming cafés or pubs. The Quiet Man tour wouldn't be complete without exploring the charming village of Cong, the real-life inspiration for the fictional village of Innisfree. This picturesque village is home to many of the film's most famous locations and attractions. Visit Pat Cohan's Bar, instantly recognisable from the film and now home to an extensive collection of The Quiet Man memorabilia. See The Quiet Man Cottage Museum, housed in an authentic cottage, where you can step inside a faithful recreation of the White O'Morn Cottage and learn fascinating behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the film. We'll also visit the Quiet Man Statue, featuring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.
