Overview

Experience rough volcanic terrain, icecaps/glaciers and unbridged rivers. Þórsmörk, valley of the Thunder God Thor, sits amongst three sparkling ice caps, Mýrdalsjökull, Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull. Sights include Gígjökull where powerful glacial floods escaped during the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption. Our local guides will vividly tell you much about this eruption, including stories only locals know about.

Check-in time: 15 minutes prior to the departure time There is a minimum of 4 participants for this tour. In case of fewer bookings, we will give you two choices: an alternative trip or a 100% refund. Please bring with you clothes according to the weather forecast (try to avoid cotton and jeans). Here is a list that is good to have in mind: • Hiking Boots (preferably of waterproof material, Gore-Tex or alternative) • Long sleeve shirt (thermal underwear, wool or synthetic) • Light wool/fleece sweater (2nd layer) • Trousers (2nd layer, strong and light material that dries quickly. Wind resistant and water repelling preferable) • Rain Jacket/anorak with hood (waterproof and breathable material. Gore-Tex or equivalents are preferable) • Rain trousers (waterproof and breathable material) • Liner Gloves (wool or synthetic.
