The Golden Buddha, officially titled Phra Phuttha Maha Suwana Patimakon, is a gold statue, with a weight of 5.5 tons. It is located in the temple of Wat Traimit, Bangkok, Thailand. Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan or Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand, on the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Weighing over 5 tons and dating back more than 700 years, the statue was once covered in plaster to hide it from invaders and was later rediscovered by accident. Located in Bangkok’s Chinatown, this temple is a must-visit for its rich history and sacred significance.
