Tokyo Sumo Stable Morning Practice Tour near Tokyo Skytree Discount Tickets

Overview

Visit a sumo stable to observe a real morning practice session. Includes guide + special brochure. After practice, there may be time to take photos with the wrestlers and ask questions. This is a valuable tour experience that even people living in Japan do not get to see on a daily basis. Sumo wrestlers and their apprentices practice every morning in order to preserve Japan's national sport, sumo, and pass it on to future generations. Closer than the official games held at the Kokugikan, you can see their breathing and facial expressions from a distance, and observe the sounds of their bodies colliding and the tense morning practice sessions. The coach's voice sounds strong and harsh, and may surprise you. However, this is only possible because of the trust he has built with his students and the rikishi who train with him, and it is this trust that keeps this sumo stable alive. **If you feel inclined to support the rikishi after practice, please leave them a tip.
