Itinerary
1. Please come to our Air-conditioned office before 15 minutes start the activity. We will check in you and gather the group at the office and take in to the first location of the Tour, Accademia Gallery
2. You will see the Original David's statue and many valuable paintings and musical instruments.
3. The heart of Florence lies within the Piazza del Duomo, anchored by its stunning cathedral. The baptistery's famous bronze doors are known as the "Gate of Paradise," while the cathedral itself boasts what was, upon its completion in the 1400s, the largest masonry dome ever built.
4. Orsanmichele perfectly illustrates the fusion of commerce and faith in Florence. This monumental structure was initially a covered ancient grain market and is now celebrated for the stunning Renaissance statues that adorn its exterior, turning a place of trade into a gallery of masterworks.
5. Piazza della Repubblica stands as the true, ancient heart of Florence. It marks the original site of the Roman Forum and the geographical center of the city, a function still marked today by the Colonna dell'Abbondanza (Column of Abundance).
6. Stop at the Fontana del Porcellino in the Mercato Nuovo. Visitors test their luck by rubbing the snout of the wild boar statue and letting a coin drop through the grate. If the coin falls through, it's believed to guarantee good fortune and a safe return to the city.
7. The focal point of civil life, Piazza della Signoria is an unmissable open air gallery. It features a replica of David alongside the massive Palazzo Vecchio, while the Loggia dei Lanzi showcases Renaissance masterpieces like Cellini's Perseus with the Head of Medusa, sculptures that served as powerful political statements for the city's rulers.
8. As you look out from the Uffizi, you'll see a true marvel of architecture: the Vasari Corridor. This exclusive, private walkway was built for Duke Cosimo I de' Medici, allowing him and his family to move unseen between their government offices in Palazzo Vecchio and their home in the Palazzo Pitti. Your vantage point on the second floor of the Uffizi places you right at the start of its hidden route across the Arno River.
9. From the windows of the Uffizi's second-floor corridor, you can enjoy a stunning, privileged view of the Ponte Vecchio, the "Old Bridge." This medieval stone bridge, built in 1345, is famous for the shops built right along its length. Originally home to stinky butchers, a decree by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici in 1593 replaced them with goldsmiths and jewelers to improve the decorum of the area. This tradition endures, making the bridge an iconic, glittering landmark on the Arno River.
10. This majestic, U-shaped palace was designed by Giorgio Vasari for Cosimo I de’ Medici, the first Grand Duke of Tuscany. It was built starting in 1560 to house the administrative "offices" (uffizi) of Florence. The vast art collection amassed by the powerful Medici family featuring ancient sculptures and Renaissance masterpieces transformed this administrative center into one of the world’s first and finest art museums. This incredible legacy ensured that iconic works by masters like Botticelli, Leonardo, and Michelangelo were protected and preserved for the public forever.
