Itinerary
1. Prepare to embark on a drive through paradise! This tour takes you through all the most beautiful, most exciting parts of Kauai. Discover the very best this island has to offer from the comfort of your car or a rental. NOTE: The tour is over 35+ miles long, with more than 60+ audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
2. Your first stop is Kalapaki, home to a pristine white beach and some impossibly calm water, thanks to a sea wall which keeps the waves at bay.
3. Get a dose of Hawaiian history at the Sugarcane & Grove Farm, where you'll learn about how this cash crop forever altered the course of Hawaii's future.
4. You won't have to wait long to experience some of Kauai's signature jungle beauty. The "Tree Tunnel" is a mile-long tunnel of eucalyptus trees which make for some seriously picturesque driving.
5. Get a glimpse into the past at Old Koloa Town, a quaint little village dating back to the days of sugar plantations.
6. Those hoping to learn more about Hawaii's sugar history can take a detour to an old sugar mill next.
7. Why settle for one beach when you can have two in one spot? Poipu Beach consists of two sandy crescents forming a double beach, and is a perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, and much more.
8. Continuing on, you'll reach the Hanapepe Valley Lookout. Don't forget to bring a camera when you check out these outstanding views!
9. In the town of Hanapepe you'll encounter the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge. This fun attraction might seem unstable when the weather turns windy, but don't worry, it's actually supposed to sway as much as it does!
10. Up next is a truly strange historical landmark: a Russian fort left over from a failed invasion attempt! Get to know the story behind it as you explore this peculiar piece of history.
11. You'll then pass Niihau, also known as The Forbidden Island. This privately-owned island has been forbidden to visitors for generations.
12. Your route takes you next past an unusual attraction, the Red Dirt Waterfall. This waterfall is exactly what it sounds like; it gets its red color from a high concentration of iron in the soil.
13. The Kukui Trail, up next, is a great option for experienced hikers, while those looking for an easier trek will love the Iliau Nature Loop. Both are great ways to get better acquainted with Kauai's gorgeous natural scenery.
14. Your route leads next to the so-called "Grand Canyon of the Pacific": Waimea Canyon. If anything on this trip is an absolute must-see, it's this. You truly won't believe your eyes!
15. For the best look at the Waimea Canyon, proceed to the Pu'u Hinahina Lookout. Here, you'll have the chance to snap some photos that are guaranteed to make your friends jealous!
16. If you want to actually trek into the canyon itself, you'll come next to the Waimea Canyon Trails, offering incredible hikes for all experience levels--as well as plenty of extra viewpoints!
17. Want some souvenirs and a bit of extra education? Check out the Koke'e Natural History Museum, a free museum dedicated to the island's flora and fauna.
18. Up next is Koke'e State Park, an essential stop if you haven't gotten enough of hiking and smelling wildflowers.
19. One of the last lookouts on your tour is the Kalalau Lookout, offering spectacular views from the highest point accessible by road on the whole island.
20. Next is the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, featuring dramatic bluffs and crashing waves. It's no wonder Hollywood has used this as a filming location more than once, including for one of the Jurassic Park movies!
21. Finally, you'll arrive at one last vista: Pu'u O Kila Lookout. The tour will conclude at this stunning overlook.
