The lake is a popular destination throughout the year, offering a myriad of activities and breathtaking scenery. In spring, cherry blossoms frame the lake, providing a stunning contrast with the lingering snow on Mount Fuji. Summers are vibrant with visitors enjoying boating, fishing, windsurfing, and cycling along the picturesque lakeside paths. The autumn foliage paints the surrounding hillsides in brilliant reds and golds, reflecting beautifully on the tranquil water. The shrine complex is shrouded in a serene forest, creating a mystical atmosphere. Its main buildings, including the Honden (main hall) and Haiden (worship hall), are beautifully constructed in traditional Japanese architectural styles, blending harmoniously with the natural surroundings. Visitors approach the shrine via a moss-covered stone staircase, passing through several torii gates, the most famous of which is the "Gate of Peace" (Heiwa no Torii) that stands strikingly in Lake Ashinoko itself, offering an iconic photo opportunity with Mount Fuji in the background on clear days.
