Ticket-only option: Guests with entry-only tickets do not have a guide, a tour, or an audio guide. They explore the Museums and Sistine Chapel independently.

Sistine Chapel rules: Speaking is not allowed inside. Guided tours provide explanations before entry. Ticket-only guests do not receive any explanation or guidance. Guides accompany guided tours inside silently.

Please arrive on time. Your ticket is only valid for the date and time on your voucher.

All visitors must go through security checks. Wait times may be longer during busy periods.

From January to March 2026, restoration work on Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment will take place. The Sistine Chapel will remain open, but scaffolding may partially or fully obstruct the altar wall. No refunds are issued for restoration work, scaffolding, or unannounced closures by the Vatican.
