2. Depart early from Calgary and travel south along the Queen Elizabeth II Highway toward Waterton Lakes National Park, one of southern Alberta’s most celebrated natural treasures. Set at the Canadian–U.S. border, this UNESCO-recognized park is known for its dramatic meeting of prairie and mountain landscapes.

4. Set sail on a scenic cruise across the deepest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies with Waterton Shoreline Cruise Co., a family-owned local company. Enjoy a unique perspective of Waterton Lakes National Park, exploring its rich history, wildlife, and stunning terrain over a 1 hour and 15-minute round-trip cruise. Experience the thrill of crossing the border into Glacier National Park, Montana—no passport required (the cruise does not dock). Keep an eye out for black bears and moose along the shoreline. Cruises run from May to mid-October. Optional Add-On: Waterton Shoreline Cruise — available for purchase on site only

5. Cameron Falls is a beautiful waterfall easily accessible from the roadside. Surrounded by colorful rock formations and mountain scenery, it’s a popular stop for photos and a short walk, especially scenic in spring and early summer.
