Itinerary
1. Morning ( 3hrs drive from Calgary to Waterton) Depart early from Calgary and travel south along the Queen Elizabeth II Highway toward Waterton Lakes National Park, one of southern Alberta’s most celebrated natural treasures. Set at the Canadian–U.S. border, this UNESCO-recognized park is known for its dramatic meeting of prairie and mountain landscapes.

3. The Prince of Wales Hotel is a historic gem perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of Waterton Lakes and the surrounding mountains. This charming, iconic hotel, built in 1927, blends classic elegance with rustic charm, offering a perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. Its striking architecture, complete with a steeply pitched roof and stunning stonework, stands out against the natural beauty of the park. Whether you’re enjoying a delicious meal in the dining room or simply relaxing on the terrace, the hotel provides an unforgettable experience in one of Canada’s most picturesque setting. Optional Add-on : Afternoon Tea - Prince of Wales Hotel Advance reservation required: Enjoy a traditional British afternoon tea featuring premium Tea Forté selections, delicate finger sandwiches, and an assortment of sweet and savoury pastries. Served with refined heritage-style hospitality, this experience is complemented by sweeping views of Lake and the surrounding mountains.
4. Set sail on a scenic cruise across the deepest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies with Waterton Shoreline Cruise Co., a family-owned local company. Enjoy a unique perspective of Waterton Lakes National Park, exploring its rich history, wildlife, and stunning terrain over a 1 hour and 15-minute round-trip cruise. Experience the thrill of crossing the border into Glacier National Park, Montana—no passport required (the cruise does not dock). Keep an eye out for black bears and moose along the shoreline. Cruises run from May to mid-October. Optional Add-On: Waterton Shoreline Cruise — available for purchase on site only
5. Cameron Falls is a beautiful waterfall easily accessible from the roadside. Surrounded by colorful rock formations and mountain scenery, it’s a popular stop for photos and a short walk, especially scenic in spring and early summer.
6. As the day’s adventure comes to a close, we’ll drop you off at the same meeting point. With your heart full of unforgettable memories and your camera brimming with stunning snapshots, we’ll return to Calgary, where your journey began, bidding farewell to the breathtaking landscapes of Waterton and the Canadian Rockies.
