Reading and hearing its name is already packed with awesomeness. But if you get the chance to see it being built to its full glory, mind-blown is an understatement.
If you've visited Universal Studios Hollywood in the last year, you've probably seen the construction of the new coaster. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is being constructed on the hill between the Upper Lot and Lower Lot of the park, with a really cool section going over the Starway.
The track is around 4,100 feet long—and when those cars start zooming, it'll be hard to miss from both the Starway and the Studio Tour trams.
The title has a cool twist on the iconic third "Fast" film title. Universal Creative genuinely means it when they say “drift.” This coaster will include state-of-the-art 360-degree rotation technology, allowing you to feel like you’re drifting.
You got it! When you speed through the coaster, there are moments when your ride vehicle sways, so you won’t be looking straight ahead the entire time.
It's based on the “Fast & Furious” franchise, which is celebrating 25 years since the first movie hit theaters. While you’re wandering in the Upper Lot, you might see something that appears to be a garage, but that big red brick building is where the ride queue starts.
Real “Fast & Furious” fans are going to be excited about the ride vehicles. They're inspired by four iconic cars from the movie series. The ride will feature these eye-popping, legendary drift-ride vehicles.
This standout vehicle is inspired by Dominic Toretto’s well-known car that appears throughout the movies. Its sleek black look makes this upgraded, 900-horsepower 1970 Dodge Charger a top pick among American muscle cars.
This ride is inspired by the 1997 model driven by Han Seoul-oh. It includes 19-inch wheels, racing seats, improved suspension, and custom interior work, which makes the Mazda RX-7 a legendary car in the Fast & Furious films.
A ride that takes cues from Brian O’Conner’s iconic 2002 blue Nissan Skyline GT-R, known for its cool upgrades and distinctive style.
This ride vehicle draws inspiration from Brian O’Conner’s orange 1994 car, which boasts the iconic 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo inline-six engine. O’Conner owed Toretto a “10-second car,” and this one certainly fulfilled that promise. It is regarded as one of the most unforgettable cars in the film franchise.
Step into the Fast & Furious world of thrills and wonder coming this September 16 at Universal Studios Hollywood. It’s new, it’s intense, and it’s nothing like the other coasters you’ve tried before.
