Overview
From novice to age ninety, no experience is necessary on this Class 2 whitewater adventure. You will raft along a wide, 5-mile section of the Athabasca River, aptly named the Expressway. The river winds its way through the incredibly scenic valley, surrounded by rocky mountains and old-growth pine forests. The flowing stretches are peppered with fun, splashy rapids making it the ideal river for families with young children.
Meeting and Pickup
Check-in 15 minutes before your tour at 638 Connaught Drive (Corner Connaught Dr. & Hazel Ave) — next to public washrooms & across street from Shell gas station. Look for black Maligne Rafting trailer.
Redemption Instructions
• Check in for your trip at the Black Maligne Rafting Trailer beside the Public Washroom – 637 Connaught Drive (public parking lot on cnr. Connaught Dr. & Hazel Ave) • You must check-in and sign waivers 15 minutes prior to departure time • Children must be a minimum of 5 years of age • Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult • Dress with a swimsuit underneath your street clothing and bring warm clothing for afterwards. It is also recommended to bring a drink and snack for after the tour • This trip runs in all weather conditions. Participants will be provided with all the necessary technical equipment including wetsuits, splash jackets, neoprene booties and lifejackets, however on cooler days, those prone to feeling the cold should bring either a fleece or wool jacket to wear underneath the splash jacket (No cotton should be worn) • All departure times listed are in Alberta Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) • The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions • Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund • Boat configuration is at the discretion of raft guides and will be determined on the day based on overall group size. While the best effort is made to keep groups together in same raft, due to logistics, this cannot be guaranteed.

1. Designated as a Canadian Heritage River because of its scenic beauty and history of fur trade exploration, the Athabasca is a glacially fed pristine river. Learn the amazing history and power of this Jasper landmark.
